Africa

Africa

In our inquiry, (Art & Culture) we have been learning about Africa and their culture. We found out a lot of information about what they do, what animals live in the country and what art they make. We had to write about the country, people, animals and art. With those topics, we made an adobe spark and shared it to our blog. Go check out the link below and comment.

Argument Writing (Draft)

Argument Writing

In Literacy, we are learning about arguments. We have been putting them in our writing, and we are learning how to make an essay now. Our essay has to be about a global or local argument. I picked poverty as my argument and how we can fix it. I´ve just finished my draft, tell me what you think.

Cell Phone Debate Reflection

Cell Phone Debate Refection

In Literacy, we have been learning about debating, we get given a topic and send away to research our topic and then we came together and started the debate. Our topic was cell phones and if they should be allowed in class. We got send into two groups and when of to research. We went onto multiple websites to find some information and then started to write it down. We turned the information into speeches, notes and arguments. We then came back half an hour later to start the debate. When we choose our two speakers.

Should cell phones be allowed in school?
Do they help or distract?
This was our second debate, and both sides were nervous. I was on the side that was saying no to phones, with the other side saying yes. We both started with the notes that we wrote down then continued to our argument. Both sides in my opinion failed. For instance, every time one side said a paragraph or two, the other side started talking about another point on phones. When they were supposed to argue about their statement. I think they shouldn't be in the classroom, even know they may help with your learning, they also distract you too. They also lower your grades to do with the screening, and also you may get others distract when on your phone.
What do you think? Yes? No?
